Under The Ash Tree Herbal medicine
At the bottom of my garden stands a beautiful old ash tree. Beneath it sits a well-loved shed, vegetable planters, and a greenhouse—a space where we spend time together on warmer days, pottering, growing, and tending the land. It was here, while caring for the vegetables and listening to the jackdaws calling from the ash tree, that the idea to study herbal medicine first took root. It was also in this quiet, grounding place that the name of my practice was born.
My journey into herbal medicine was inspired by the sense of empowerment it gave me, allowing me to support my own health in a natural and meaningful way. Knowing there was another, more holistic path to wellbeing led me to deepen my knowledge, and I now use that experience to help support others on their own health journeys.
After graduating from Heartwood Education I became a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists. My training spanned over four years and included in-depth study of anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, biochemistry, nutrition, clinical skills, and traditional herbal medicine. It included over 500 clinical hours and extensive academic work. This rigorous education allows me to offer thoughtful, evidence-informed, and compassionate herbal care.
My goal as a medical herbalist is to restore health by addressing the root causes of illness through evidence-informed herbal medicine and holistic care. I create personalised treatment plans that support the body’s natural healing processes and honour the connection between physical, emotional, and environmental health, helping patients achieve lasting wellbeing.
